Queenstown - Alpine and lakeside resort
QUEENSTOWN – The lakeside alpine town of Queenstown is New Zealand’s premier resort destination. A beautiful location coupled with some of the countries wildest scenery blends to create the ultimate holiday destination.
Queenstown - our 3 day short break
On arrival in Queenstown if flying in you will be met and transferred by private vehicle. If self driving make your way to town in your own time. Once settled into the hotel of your choosing enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Next morning join a local guide for a morning 'highlights' tour. During your tour stop at Queenstown Hill for spectacular views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables and Lord of the Rings locations. From here travel to the AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge and discover the Secrets of Bungy with a behind the scenes tour before watching intrepid jumpers from the viewing deck. Next visit the Gibbston Valley Winery to enjoy a selection of three wines produced on site. You will also discover beautiful Arrowtown’s golden history and colonial architecture. Highlights are the Lakes District Museum, Chinese Miners’ Settlement, boutique shopping, great cafes and restaurants. Before your tour ends you will be transported to Middle Earth at the Kawarau Gorge, film location for the Pillars of the Kings, from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy - a great photo opportunity.
On returning to your accommodation enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Queenstown offers an overwhelming choice of activities including jet boating, sky diving, sailing, hiking, horseriding and scenic helicopter rides, to name just a small number of your options.
On your final day travel on to your next destination or join our shuttle for the transfer to the airport.
We recommend you extend your Queenstown stay by a few days. Extra time in Queenstown gives you the chance to visit Milford or Doubtful Sound, hike a portion of the famous Routeburn Track, take an extended tour of the world's southernmost wine region or just relax and enjoy the spectacular setting that is Queenstown.
