Once settled into the accommodation of your choosing the remainder of the day is at leisure. We have included an open pass to the Polynesian Spa Hot Pools complex.
The next day join a local guide for your morning sightseeing. First travel through forestry and farmland to NZ's largest boiling mud pool and a series of colourful hot springs at Wai-o-tapu. Next a short drive to the Waimangu Volcanic valley where your guide will explain the Mt Tarawera eruption which blew open this spectacular, bush covered, geothermal park. Return to your hotel for some free time before taking a guided tour of the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and NZ Maori Art's & Crafts institute at Te Puia, this is followed by a traditional Maori concert and 'Hangi' style buffet dinner.
On your last day maybe enjoy a breakfast lake cruise before joining the shuttle transfer to the airport or moving on to your next 'city break' destination.
You can extend this short break in Rotorua by as many day's as you wish. Extra time in the region means you can try fly-fishing in some of the best rivers and lakes in New Zealand, travel out to White Island, an active marine volcano, or enjoy many of the adventure activities on offer at the Agrodomes Adventure Park.
